Joyous Stress: A Motherhood Recap

Tonight was a beautiful mess.
A symphony of fried rice, mystery cries, soggy leggings, and baby giggles.
Here’s the recap:
Baby number one is eating chicken fried rice. The entire container spills on me—and she happily keeps eating it off the chair like nothing happened.
Meanwhile, baby number two is crying. No clue why.
I put baby two down to give baby one a bath (because sticky soy sauce cheeks aren’t it), but baby two is still crying. I go check on her, thinking it might be the diaper. So I remove it, but don’t put another one on because I figure I’ll give her a bath too.
Big mistake. Big.
Warm wetness hits my stomach.
Yup—she peed on me.
And you know what?
I laughed.
I actually laughed.
It was either that or cry… and tonight, I chose joy. 😂
Motherhood will test every part of you—your patience, your multitasking, your hygiene standards. But it also expands your capacity to love, to release control, and to find beauty in the chaos.
This wasn’t a “perfect” night. But it was real. It was full. It was holy in its own little way.
If you’re in a season of joyous stress—where you’re overwhelmed but still smiling through the mess—I see you. I am you.
Feel free to share your “joyous stress” moments below. We’re building a sisterhood of grace, one pee-soaked moment at a time. 💛
