When It Doesn’t Make Sense: Trusting God Anyway

Some mornings remind you to pause.
For me, it was a bouquet of fresh flowers.
Simple. Beautiful. Undemanding.
They didn’t ask to be anything more than what they were—just a moment of life reminding me to breathe.
But today’s freely flowing thoughts have nothing to do with flowers. They’re about those moments that don’t go as planned. The ones that sting, shake you, or stop you in your tracks.
Today, I found myself thanking God for something I used to label as traumatic. Something that broke my heart.
I didn’t expect gratitude to show up there.
But it did.
Because when I look back now, I realize that moment—though heavy—became the very place I learned how to trust Him. Not because everything made sense, but because nothing did. And yet, I was held.
It softened me.
It anchored me.
It taught me that I don’t have to make sense of the “why” to trust in the “Who.”
So now, I’m learning to be open. Open to the unfolding.
Open to the unexpected.
Open to the fact that even when I can’t see the full picture, God is still in control.
If you’re in the middle of something that doesn’t make sense—
Breathe.
Sniff the flowers if you have to.
And know this:
Peace doesn’t always come from understanding.
Sometimes it comes from surrender. 🌸
Scripture Reflection: Proverbs 3:5-6 and Romans 8:28
From your biggest fan! I love this! Thank you for reminding me to always keep him first in whatever we do. Proverbs 3:5-6 is one of my favorites scriptures. Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight
